17 Year Old Teen Invents Machine That Makes Clean Energy & Fresh Water

What do you do when you are still 17 years old? “When I was still seventeen, I was thinking about dating, shopping and traveling with my family!” Generally one has different priorities when you are still seventeen. Have you ever tried something maybe… a little bit different? Something that could change the world. “Well, can you give me a 17-year-old person who did a world-changing stuff?” I can give you one, and you should prepare because I’m pretty sure that you're going to love her and her awesome invention! *winks*

Guys, here’s Cynthia Sin Nga Lam, a 17-year-old girl from Melbourne, Australia. “What did she do that made her exceptional?” She just built ‘H2Pro – a Portable Photocatalytic Electricity Generation and Water Purification Unit’. Cynthia joins the Google Science Fair in 2014, and this is her output. “The whole world is facing an energy crisis and water pollution. My objective is to find an eco-friendly and economical approach to solving both issues,” says Cynthia, as cited in Google Science Fair’s website. Enter her H2Pro. *smiles* Do you know what is so special with her invention? It can generate electricity and provide clean water – at the same time. “In photocatalysis, not only water is purified and sterilized, but Hydrogen is also produced through water-splitting, which can be used to generate electricity,” says Cynthia, as quoted by Timon Singh in Inhabitat. Real awesome, ha? This could be very helpful to the 1,980,000, 000 billion people around the world who don’t have enough access to electricity and clean water. Well, Cynthia, you give hope to more than a billion people because of your invention. In behalf of them, I thank you. *smiles*
