Chicken and Biscuits Casserole
This chicken and biscuits casserole is our featured recipe, and this one is an easy to make version using already cooked chicken and a can of ready-to-bake biscuits. There are so many working moms out there that just do not have the time to do an entire meal from scratch when they get home from work. These moms still want to make home cooked meals for their families. This is a really nice tasting meal that requires making the creamy sauce, adding the chicken and vegetables, placing it all into a baking dish then adding the biscuits and baking.
This is a perfect way to use up leftover chicken, or you could substitute leftover turkey just as easily. This recipe makes six servings and only takes 35 minutes to assemble and cook, so while you are doing the cooking, the kids are arriving home, settling in and helping set the table giving you just enough time to satisfy those hungry appetites without going through any drive-thrus.
This recipe uses ready-to-bake biscuits. If you decide to substitute a homemade biscuit because you don't have any biscuits in the refrigerator, you can do it quick and easy. Just what goes into making a biscuit? Traditional biscuits only use five ingredients. These ingredients are butter, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. It is a very simple process of combining the ingredients to make a dough then either rolling out and cutting into circles or you can do a drop biscuit as well. If you find yourself with all the ingredients except this one, and you would like to make this recipe, don't let that stop you as you can make up a little batch of biscuits from scratch in just moments.
